Mukoko Weather user guide

weather.mukoko.com is an AI-powered global weather platform — real-time conditions, 7-day forecasts, frost alerts, and contextual advice for farming, mining, travel, and daily life. The core service is free and works without an account.

The home page is your current-location weather. On first visit the app asks once for device location; grant it and the dashboard follows you wherever you are — the MY LOCATION label confirms a GPS fix. If you decline, the app falls back to your last-viewed location or a rough network-based estimate, and you can always search for any place worldwide.

Every named location also has its own shareable page (for example /harare), with dedicated sub-pages:

  • Forecast — hour-by-hour and 7-day charts plus sunrise/sunset
  • Atmosphere — 24-hour humidity, wind, pressure, and UV trends
  • Map — full-screen interactive weather map with precipitation, cloud, temperature, and wind layers

Open My Weather (map-pin button) to save locations, pick your activities — farming, mining, transport, outdoors, sports, or lifestyle — and set the theme. Activity cards on each location page then show a suitability rating, a 24-hour feasibility trend, and weather-driven tips specific to what you do. The AI summary also uses your selections to ground its advice.

Signed-in users get a Shamwari Weather Insight on every location page — a short, locally grounded summary of what the weather means for the day, with an inline follow-up chat for questions. Weather data itself never requires sign-in; only the AI features, aviation planner, and historical dashboard do.

Anyone can report what the sky is actually doing — rain, hail, fog, frost, dust, and more — straight from a location page. Reports are cross-checked against the forecast data and shown to everyone nearby for 24–72 hours depending on severity. Community weather stations feed the same pages automatically; see the weather stations guide.

Is it free? Yes — current conditions, forecasts, maps, and alerts are free for everyone.

How accurate is it? Forecasts come from Tomorrow.io with Open-Meteo as a fallback, cross-validated with community reports and stations. Forecasts are guidance, not guarantees — for critical decisions consult your national meteorological service.

Why can’t I find my location? Any valid coordinates work. Use the GPS button or search; brand-new places are created on the fly from your position.

Does it work offline? The app is installable (PWA) and shows an offline page without a connection, but live weather needs the network.
